Comic World isn’t just a place to shop—it’s a place to show up, hang out, roll dice, celebrate new releases, and meet fellow fans from all across Eastern NC. Our event calendar is always packed with something fun: Dungeons & Dragons sessions, trading-card release parties, holiday celebrations, author meet-ups, community gatherings, and plenty of surprises along the way.

We’re proud to be an official host partner of Epic Mighty Con, and the next big one lands on September 19, 2026—a full day of fandom, vendors, cosplay, collectibles, gaming, and pure comic-shop energy. You’ll definitely want to be there, and you’ll definitely want to hear about everything leading up to it.

Annual Events

FCBD - Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) happens every year on the first Saturday in May, when comic shops give out free comics for all ages. It’s a fun way to discover new stories, meet other fans, and support your local shop — with everything from kids’ titles to big superhero releases.

Epic Mighty Con

Our biggest fandom event of the year! Held every September, Epic Mighty Con brings together artists, vendors, cosplay, collectibles, and family-friendly fun. This year’s convention is set for September 19, 2026 — mark your calendar and get ready for an epic day of comics, games, and community.

Halloween Haunted House

Every Halloween, we transform the shop into a spooky, family-friendly Haunted House filled with fun, surprises, and door prizes. It’s a quick, festive stop for all ages — costumes welcome, good times guaranteed.

Pictures with Deadpool Santa Claus

Every Second Saturday in December, Deadpool Santa swings by the shop for photos, laughs, and total holiday chaos. It’s a fun, quirky tradition for all ages — snap a picture, grab some goodies, and enjoy the most unpredictable Santa visit of the season.
